Art@Home is an Erasmus+ project created to respond to a concrete challenge: how to bring meaningful artistic experiences to isolated adults who, due to health issues, limited mobility, or personal choice, cannot or do not wish to participate in activities outside their homes.

Many artistic and creative projects developed in recent years for vulnerable groups fail to reach those living in domestic isolation, often the very people who most need cultural and relational stimulation.
In this context, Art@Home proposes a shift in perspective: bringing art directly into people’s homes, experimenting with a new form of cultural inclusion through individual artistic performances (one-to-one)delivered at home.

In these performances, an artist meets with a single person, creating an intimate, co-constructed experience that incorporates autobiographical fragments from both the artist and the participant. This approach not only overcomes physical barriers but also fosters trust, deep listening, participation, and personal growth.

The project involves artistic and social partners from Italy and France, who will co-design and test artistic interventions in domestic settings through an interdisciplinary and collaborative approach.

Objectives

  • To make art accessible to isolated individuals, offering a truly inclusive opportunity for informal adult education;
  • To develop and test artistic intervention methodologies tailored to domestic settings, promoting well-being, self-expression, and social connection;
  • To foster collaboration between the artistic and social sectors through co-design activities, mutual training, and knowledge exchange;
  • To promote social inclusion and mental health by addressing loneliness and isolation through aesthetic and relational experiences.

Expected Results

  • A replicable and shared methodological model for delivering individual artistic workshops in the homes of isolated people, co-developed by artists and social workers;
  • Pilot implementations in real-life contexts: each partner country will engage at least four beneficiaries, delivering tailored artistic sessions in their homes;
  • Increased awareness and skills among participating professionals, in both the artistic and social sectors, regarding the use of art in intimate and domestic environments;
  • Evaluation of the impact of the interventions in terms of well-being, connection, and participation of those involved;
  • Strengthened local and international networks among organizations committed to promoting cultural inclusion;
